I agree with FC. See this as a MS-62 with a toning bump to MS-63.

I can't seem to grade these from a static photo, a coin with this much deep toning I need in hand to rotate under a good light source, that said I'm in agreement with fortcollins on it, a Solid MS62 today could push a MS63, a few years ago an easy MS64 or even higher.

I'm at 64 here. Love the color but makes it hard to grade from a photo.

I agree with fortcollins' assessment. I'll say MS-63.

first thought was MS62. depending on when it was slabbed it could have slabbed at 63.

And the reveal! In hand the color is rustic and has great luster. I think the reverse is a bit baggy for a 65 but the Obverse is clean and carries. I ended up at $380 which for a nicely colored 65 CAC is well within reason for me  |

I know this was a very nice-looking coin (MS64+), maybe because I love toned coins.  . . . PCGS MS65 backed up by CAC! Can't wait to read what the low-graders have to say...  |

PCGS loves toned coins even blotchy toning. the toning on this one really obscures the surfaces. I assume it can be seen better in hand. I lowered my assessment based on the small issues outlined by FC and, that TV glamour shots tend to enhance a coin. imo the eye appeal lowers the grade and at minimum lowers the value of the coin. with that said, there are lot of collectors out there that just love this kind of toning...its just not my bag. congrats on the grade and bean

It's not to most people's taste as far as toning goes, but while I certainly am a big fan of those big colorful bombs, something about the rustic oranges, golds, greens, blues, oranges, purples and browns of coins like this I love. Maybe it's almost an antiqued look, maybe I'm just an oddball, but man I love these. I don't think I would've been interested in it without CAC approval though if I'm being honest, PCGS and NGC are both too lax on toned Peace dollars generally having the second set of eyes, for what it is worth, is something of reassurance. |

I got it right  Not just because I knew the coin/grade but was familiar with the collector. I knew Grapes wouldn't pick-up a common coin in a lower grade (unless he got it for melt or less) Nice way to start up the collection again Grapes Best of luck with future buys....I'm looking forward to seeing more |

 Whelp. It is a very nice MS coin with toning, and I do see what you saw in it. I still can't get to their number, but it is a nice coin. Don't let my nit-pickiness bother you here. Like all collecting, what matters is that you like the coin and it was at a fair price and it has a good home now. I also own coins that other people sometimes shook their heads over, but I liked them, bought them, and still enjoy them. I'm not going to be Don Quixote tilting at PCGS windmills. I'll just say that there are times PCGS seems to be a bit like that one friend who counted to ten faster than everyone else when we were playing hide-and-seek.  |

I based my prediction based on my recent experiences with PCGS & CACG. I see too many marks for a 65 and the CAC surprises me. It also reinforces the fact that I cannot grade Peace dollars like the TPGs. Congrats Grape! It is a beautiful dollar. |
