G'Day Adam this is the third coin in a five coin set,the cost of each coin is just under $90.00 AU,just as a matter of interest the first coin was selling over $120.00 on ebay the last time I looked. Nic the color on the reverse looks great but you can see the high blood pressure in my hand LOL.  |

Thanks lilaznkev and yes they are rippers, Moe the local coin and stamp shop put an order in to the Perth Mint for me so I'm on the ground floor when there released,the next release is early September for coin four in the set and it's the battle of Balaclava(the Battle of Gettysburg is the fifth coin ). Yes, now I know, got too excited there with the red coloration, comparing pic with Moe145 ebay, yes finger is the red one! sorry about that, still is a great coin, first time I've seen great coloration like that |

I have a couple of the Cannaes and one of the Thermopylaes. The former cost me an average of about $60 and the latter, $75, all US prices after S&H. I actually saw a Thermopylae go in the mid $50's just last month and could have kicked myself for not bidding on it.
But yeah, I love the series and plan to buy them all. I'm hoping to pick up the Hasting in the $50's. Usually, right after a release the prices are a somewhat higher. The Cannae coin can be had in the mid to upper $40's.

The Royal Canadian Mint has been doing a lot to promote collection. Their low mintage commemorates are very well designed. I have purchased several, the triangular milk token was one of my favorites. If you look at PCGS populations of MS-70 commemorates, you may find that the U.S. Mint is now putting out a better product now. Could that be from the scrutiny of third party grading services providing a better quality check? |

Well, now I'm confused nuggethill. (the Battle of Gettysburg is the fifth coin ) Being from the deep south, the Battle of Gettysburg was in PA, USA?

Pheidippidis' Marathon Run 2,500th Anniversary 490BC-2010 1oz Silver Coin, another coin from the Perth Mint for the anniversary of the battle of Marathon, Pheidippidis was the runner who ran, 25 miles from the battle at the coast, back to Greece to announce "we have won", then collapsed and died.Just 5,000 coins will be minted. I just ordered this very limited mintage coin from the Perth Mint, just another example of some beautiful products this Mint does produce.... |

Thanks for the information MD RJ even though the battle of Gettysburg was in the deep south the Perth Mint still issued it as the fifth coin of the famous battle series |

This is a great series, you can order them( if they are still available) from the Perth Mint, they are just works of art, brilliantly designed and the 5-coin famous battles are history on a coin, each battle, Thanks to Harry for showing us the 1st coin of the series, once seen, I had to try to obtain them all, almost there, good luck, Mike.... |
