Is the statue of liberty in New Jersey? I was of the thought that Ellis Island and teh statue were in New York.

Am I the only one up in arms about the old Washington obverse that this series will revert to?

I actually don't think the current obverse is any better than the old one. I just hope that at the end of this series we will get a total overhaul of the quarter.

I think Teddy Roosevelt would be a great change for the quarter and the only President that deserves to be on the obverse of National Park Coins.
BTW- Teddy is my favorite President.

Teddy on the obverse is a great idea. I would set the series apart more from the State Quarters and makes a lot of sense. Was he ever on a commemorative or any coin?

A dictatorship puts the head of its rulers on its coins. A republic (like Switzerland, France, etc.) puts some national symbol. We've become some sort of in between, we put dead leaders on our coins. That's bad enough but why don't they, like, let some other dead guy on there? Must be too political. The coin I like most, of the recent, as this goes is the Sac. dollar.

I might add also that Teddy Roosevelt was a numismatist and kept a Greek Owl Tetradrachma in his wallet for good luck.
I also am a bit sad that the old eagle is not returning. I would have been fine with a new portrait of Teddy on the obverse and the old eagle on the reverse.

My bet is the obverse will be the same as the current quarter. Quote: I just hope that at the end of this series we will get a total overhaul of the quarter. Well I don't know what they will do with the obverse but the National parks legislation requires that once the program ends the reverse design for the quarter will be a representation of Washington crossing the Delaware. Quote: I was of the thought that Ellis Island and teh statue were in New York. I think Ellis Island IS in New York, but the Statue is in New Jersey.
