Trying a photo of the reverse .... OK ... it's a horrible photo .... but this is a well-preserved 1950-D with step details ....... I wonder where it came from? Whatever ....... I am thrilled to have my own 50-D from roll finds! David

AWESOME PULL!! That just confirms all that I have read; that most 1950d 's are of high grade because they were hoarded as it was common knowledge that they were going to be scarce (remind you of another similar occurrence? like we are going through right now?) Great shape; that one there! Like Wheezy said, somebody's Whitman is minus a key date (or more) right now. Congrats Again!

Nice coin!! I wish I was that lucky! (FYI: I've found when you post the first picture, the page then asks if you want to upload another picture. When you say yes, it reopens the upload window, (you can't see it) BECAUSE it's in the background. You then have to minimize the first page to get to the upload screen again. You can then post all the pictures you want. I hope this works for you!)

Very nice indeed nickelsearcher! Now that you've found the 'key' to the set I have no doubt that you will soon complete the entire set from circulation! Only five left if I remember correctly, best of luck!

Good memory _22_ ..... you are correct. Still need the 38P (arrrrgh), 38S, 42S, 43D and 44D. Thanks Moe145 .... I'll try that next time. I've pulled the coin out of the folder about 100 times now .... just to be sure it's still a 50-D. Thinking it through some, I believe you all are correct ..... this coin was set aside in 1950 and recently spent and somehow I became the lucky finder. Thanks for the kind comments ... David

Like I said in the statistics thread you just posted, you will finish your set in no time now. Of the five that you need, I found four of them in just the last ten days! All but the 38s. Good Luck!

Nice find, I've been finding several higher grade nickels recently as well, but nothing like that. Im still missing the 38d, 38s, 39d, 43d, 44d, and 50d. Although I'm missing these six with mintage in the millions I've managed to find the 1950 proof with mintage less than 60,000.....Madnesss!?!?!?!

Congrats! I'm still waiting for mine, but I haven't searched close to that many rolls so it's going to be a while for me!

Very nice, nickelsearcher! Coincidently, I landed one, just the other day (F-ish).

AGcoinhunter, 1950 is still a great find, along with any of the other semi-key nickels. I've only found one 1950, about 14 years ago searching through bank rolls.
