I would too be interested in the BU modern stuff. I have started to take interested in them, whether cents, quarters, etc.

You should put together mixed b.u. rolls of the different denominations and come up with roll prices. I'd be interested in several quarter rolls.

Looks like Christmas came early for you. Glad you came into this stuff, besides the nice varieties you've found recently.

Wow...lots of responses! I will keep you guys in mind once I get a handle on all this stuff. For now looking at the Lincolns is my priority...of course, LOL. I tested a different container of cents tonight (a big glass bottle) and it's amazing. The latest date is 1986 in this jar. About 25-30% copper and lots and lots of BU early 80's cents. It had several 1972's too, I like looking for the DDO's. Every time I pour out a small pile to work on I'm oooooohhh and ahhhhhhh over the BU Zincolns. LOL After seaching all those boxes and bags of the past I almost feel I wasted my time. These BU Lincolns and nice copper have me spoiled! This stuff is a searchers delight. I can't wait to get to the other containers. He said he would just fill a container and then start on a new one. So each container must represent a certain period in time. Based on the two containers I've examined thus far, one of them goes to 1986 and the other one to 1996. FUN FUN FUN!

LOL
One thing that has been quite unusual, I've only found TWO wheat cents so far! No matter, I'll take the BU Zincolns over the average wheats I do usually find. For example, I'm finding 1986-D's and the BU roll price on CDN is $27...that comes to $0.54 each. I only get 2.5 cents for a common wheat. I nabbed almost a full roll of 86-D's so far. :)

Just curious Bad Thad.
You've posted a lot of links about how "valuable" BU, high-end memorial cents are.
Has this changed your mind at all?
After all, there are probably hundreds and hundreds of these stashes across the good 'ole USA. That's the big problem with all the recent coinage. Billions and billions.

Absolutely not. While I'm sure there's plenty of "stashes", that doesn't mean they were stored properly, their quaility is high, and that they won't just end up back in circulation. Most of the BU's I'm pulling out have the same problems of mid to late die state, poor strikes, spots and generally poor quality.

I would also be interested in any BU cents, nickels and dimes and any halves he may have. Hard to find the 80's and 90's cents in any good condition these days in change. Same really kind of goes for the nickels.

WHEW! The cents are KILLING me to get through. I have mega-hours racked up and I'm less than 25% finished. This is going to take me a long, long time to finish. One great thing so far, I've upgraded my Zincoln BU roll set to almost all gem level coins and completed some tough years that I was struggling with. My 1982 to 1989 roll coins are the absolute BOMB now. I also completed an extra roll of 1986-D that are at least MS-63 and up. These have a CDN ask of $27!

BadThad, I would be VERY interested in that roll of 86-D and any most other 80's rolls you have extra of.

After all, there are probably hundreds and hundreds of these stashes across the good 'ole USA. That's the big problem with all the recent coinage. Billions and billions. Sure there are hundreds and hundreds of stashes like this but that means hundreds and hundreds or rolls. This is a drop in the bucket compared to potential demand. Also bear in mind that stashes like this are getting hauled off to the bank all the time. Also there's the fact that it's only the one cent coins that don't circulate. You won't find even a single 1969-P quarter in this lot in AU condition because these were all worn by the time this hoard was started. If there are at least about 5000 quarters then there should be a really nice XF though. There will probably be a type "b" reverse quarter as well in nice VF or better. There should be several '82-P and '83-P quarters but quarters have a tendency to disappoint in old hoards like this because back in the day these were worth something people would remove a few for use in vending machines or for tolls and the like. This means the oldest quarters in the bunch will be far fewer in number and more likely to be scuffed from going in and out of the jar. It seems to me that it would be a good time to start other collections. While there might be a whole roll of '86-D's in the jar remember that on the east cost they would be '86-P's and I'm sure there are only a few really gemmy coins in the whole roll.
Time don't fly, it bounds and leaps.
