So a newbie question - how do you get one of these Brinks boxes? I've never heard of this.

Brinks rolls are the plastic wrapped. If your bank has plastic wrapped rolls, just ask for a box of 50 rolls.

I've never bought a Brinks box before. I'm going to check with my bank this week to see what they offer. Interesting way to find missing pieces.

It doesn't have to be a Brinks box...any $25 in circulation will do. There's nothing special about Brinks.
So from seeing the list of coins found by the OP, I'm assuming he's skipping all of the possible big money finds in die varieties? Too bad. There's a HUGE profit to be had from finding them. Seems like the OP is keeping very low value common stuff instead of hunting the scarce high value stuff.

Not quite sir! I weed out the obvious first, then slowly search for varieties. I've learned a lot from this forum and look forward to learning more.

I don;'t think that is the noirm, for boxes of cents. I search a LOT of them, and don't find 10% 0f what you have listed. I am a variiety guntert/collector, and save every IJHC I get in hand. My listing would include a few Canadian, some mexican, a few from the bahamas, as well as the LWC, LMC. In facrt, I have about 16 boxes to go thru. I got them when I was still driving a car, but now I am not able to see well wnough to own a drivers license, so they are slowly getting searched, and "recycled" as I am able to get to the bank. I get both plastic rolls, and paper wrrap, so it is a toss-up as to which gives the best returns. I also like "customer wraps. You never know what they will hold. Good luck in your future roll-searching. Dick

IDK about cent brick searching...thats a lot of pennies to go through! How much is a box of nickels? maybe i'll try a box of each and see how it goes, got to try everything at least once...it may be fun lol. I usually just get a roll or two at the bank, I'll see how this gets the tellers attention haha

coppercoins you make a very good point.I hope others here roll searching follow your advice. Early on I was saving every Lincoln Cent with an unusual looking mm, doubling, etc. You taught me and many others here to recognize Machine Doubling, results of die wear etc. You are arguably the most valuable resource we have on lincoln cents. My hat is off to you.

Thank you for the kind words - I do my best to share what I can with the community at large.
Regarding roll searching - While I am sure that some people only search rolls for specific dates or mints to fill albums, and others are only looking for older coins to fill rolls they will save, I am certain that the vast majority of people who go to the bank to buy boxes of rolls to search are looking to profit fromt he time they spend doing this activity. Given that case, it is imperative that you learn die varieties and learn how to find them BEFORE going through your rolls. It makes no sense at all to spend that kind of time trying to profit from coins in circulation, then leave free money at the bank because you didn't know what to look for. Best advice - buy a book that will help. My book, the Cherrypicker's Guide, and Strike it Rich are all good books to get for this purpose...in fact, they are all pretty much necessary to accomplish the task with any level of accuracy.
