Ochre invoice = brownbill

The only thing I could think of for diagonal was the milling which made me think of the guineas. But you say clue #1 is cryptic so it couldn't be anything that obvious.

N 53.5 W 1.33 is a map reference in england.
I thought the same about the diagonal refering to guineas.
I thought ocher invoice may have refered to william third of orange and the bill of rights.
I typed 01132637580 into google earth,try it!
STTYWM, 11/4, and PAHB(B)S(S) were three clues that drove me bananas!

I forgot the motorhead one,I to thought that it was a clue for england, but then I figured Iron maiden would be a better use for that seeing they are a better band
Does it have anything to do with the god portrayed in the picture?

This was one of the most entertaining threads I've read on this whole forum! It was like reading a good book, I couldn't wait to see what the next clue was!

Great contest!

YES! Nice one! Obviously the Silversmith where you could redeem your Leeds Half-Penny.

N 53.5 W 1.33 is a map reference in england.

YES! It was the Lattitiude and Longitude (rounded off) for a spot near Leeds England.

diagonal was the milling which made me think of the guineas

Not this. (Let me know if you want me to tell you).

STTYWM, 11/4, and PAHB(B)S(S) were three clues that drove me bananas!

I'll tell you if you want...

Wow! Typing in those numbers into Google Earth really works well! I had NO IDEA it would do that! VERY COOL!

I'd like to say that I have not been on this site very long and I know that you'd prefer a budding collector.
I'd like to nominate "coinsrfun" - his insight has been very helpful to quite a few posters. He does not seem to be in the budding collector category but I am sure that in his travels it will eventually go to a deserving collector.
If that pick doesn't work for you then please feel free to pick a worthy recipient.

Pennylover1010: this contest was originally designed to get this Morgan to a deserving (I think I used budding) collector. If you feel you are indeed a deserving new collector I will send YOU this Morgan. I await your response!

(Note to all: I think when this contest is run in the future, I will leave it up to the winner of the contest to do what he/she wishes with the coin won. If he/she wishes to grant it another collector, that would be good with me. I think forcing people who win give up their prize may be a bit heavy-handed. And no where near as much fun!)

Cool contest...thanks for running it Moe. And congrats pennylover!

Do you love half pennies half as much? Or twice as much to even things out?

The first two clues "diagonal" and the Motorhead "Inferno" album cover refer to the obverse portrait on the coin, Bishop Blaze. (Diagonal is the direction a Bishop moves in a chess game and of course, inferno is another name for blaze).

STTYWM refers to the logo on the obverse, "Success to the Yorkshire Woollen Manufactory"

PAHB(B)S(S) refers to the edge lettering on the coin "Payable at H. Brownbill's Silversmith"

11/4 refers to the element Copper (the make-up of the coin) with its placement in the Periodic Table of Elements; 11th Period 4th Group. (11 over, 4 down)

I think that covers most of them that weren't covered already.

Thanks again to all who played! You guys are good! Too good!

But maybe there's more to come...

Nice.
The motorhead clue could have been a few things though,i was thinking maybe 20 pence, from when the dude in the crowd threw a 20p coin with a razor blade stuck to it at Lemmy and hit him in the hand.OR,a coin with a reeeal ugly kings head on it.
