You are correct in that I must make amends. I will begin saving the needed gold coins to send out. Unfortunately, that may take a while.

Don't send mine until gold is 1000 an ounce. Then, you can really feel the pain......

This act is simply too horrendous to overlook. I submit you forward a new gold Buffalo to each member that reads this post, and only then will you be considered for forgiveness

It was probably a sign from God that there wasn't anything there for you anyway...

Glad you had a good trip, though. I guess you are just going to have to go visit again soon!

Their prices may have been high anyway but they may have been very cheap as well. I'm not as greedy as some I'll settle for a couple ounces of silver.

We just returned from a family reunion in Durango, Colorado.

It was fun.

Beautiful Condo located in the mountains near Durango. Deer and elk walking through the yard. Narrow gauge train running on a little rise literally through the back yard. Jacuzzi, Daily rain making for a temperature of about 70 degrees. And, I got to go to "four-corners." Lived in Colorado 60 plus years, and this was my first trip to the four-corners. Stood in four states at the same time.

Also, a little coincidence. Stood in line at four-corners with people from Mesa, Arizona and Kokomo, Indiana, the homes of CC members dsking and ndgoflo!

Well anyway, that's the good news!

The bad news is that I was so busy having a good time I never made it to the two coin stores in Durango which were supposed to have a great inventory.

Please forgive me!

Hello Gary and everyone!

I just thought that I would quickly log in and see what everyone's up to and saw this post from Gary!

I'm in Prescott, Arizona sitting by a pool right now. Weather is 85 ish and wonderful. Sure beats the heat of the desert valley! Will be here until late tomorrow.

Have a safe and wonderful 4th of July to everyone. I won't be checking back in until tomorrow night!

Oh and yes Gary, the Four Corners is nice. I love Durango. Did you go home up and over Dallas Divide - lucky you if your did!

Later gang!

Oh and one thing that I will be returning home with is a beautiful 1/2 oz Gold Panda in a beautiful bezel. I know, I know - it's jewelry. It is an anniversary present from my wonderful husband.

I'm in a rebellious mood tonight. Must be the 4th July since I'm usually not very rebellious or reactionary at all. So if this narrow gauge train in CO. is in any way connected to Virgil Caine's Denver train I'm okay with your transgressions. Even a chemical trace will do. Denver CO. Denver VA.? Hey, close enough

BTW, you got honorable mention in CoinWorlds State Quarter section this week.

"Virgil Caine is my name and I served on the
Denver train, till Stoneman's cavalry came
and tore up the tracks again. In the winter of
'65 we were hungry, just barely alive. By May 10,
Richmond had fell, it was a time I remember,
oh so well..."

Night they drove ole Dixie down

dsk, whereabouts in Prescott are you? I spent all of May and into June at White Spar, Lynx Lake, Yavapai, and Lower Wolf Creek campgrounds while having a series of appointments at the Prescott VA hospital. But as soon I was done there, I headed north to cooler climes and am at 7100' southeast of Flagstaff in Coconino Natl Forest, now that there's been a little rain and the wildfires are mostly out. I winter in the desert about 25 miles ESE of Salome; when the temps hit 100F, I'm outta there. It's a balmy 70 right now, will drop into the lower 50s tonight.

Any coin shops in Prescott? I looked around, didn't find any, but didn't think to search online. I notice there was a coin show in May, I think, but I missed it.

Flagstaff seems to be a coin non-event as far as I've determined. However, there's a fairly large number of pawn shops which I have not yet checked out.

Fred

Thanks to everybody who contributed to this thread.

It was fun, wasn't it!

I'll guarantee one thing. If I was a millionaire (billionaire maybe). I would certainly send gold coins to all Coin Community members!

What a bunch of great people!

I'm back in the desert again! I wanted to look you up Morganfred but, forgot until we were sitting by the pool and basking in the 85 degrees. We spent four lovely days in Prescott, Prescott Valley and Chino Valley with friends. Lot's of rain while we were there but, typical mountain showers - come and go!

I didn't even look around for any coin shops per se. There was the Prescott Rodeo going on with lots of traffic and such. The rest of the time was spent relaxing after helping our friends move from Chino Valley. Whew! It was great fun though. My friend is a collector also and I think I've got her into the CCF!

Gary...I'll forgive you for not looking while you were in Durango. I'm not sure if a College town would be a good place to find good values. Next time...just keep coming a little further south, pick up Morganfred and I'll take you to my favorite shop here in the valley.

Later all. It's good to be home (sort of) but, definitely great to be back with my forum family.

Actually, there's a number of us in the US who celebrate Canada Day (1 July) - we're ham radio operators and participate in the Canada Day contest and exchange greetings with our Canadian friends. I have a "second home" in Labrador along with a Canadian ham radio license.

Besides, everyone who lives from Tierra del Fuego to Ellesmere Island technically is an American. It just happened that the rebellious colonies of the 1770s were essentially granted the label. It's not too late: we can still make the US part of Canada!
