Another important distinction is that the blue packs have uncirculated 40% silver dollars, while the brown boxes have proof 40% silver dollars. By the way, that is a great looking Eisenhower dollar! Edit: Bio beat me to it. I must remember to refresh before posting a reply when I get interrupted by a phone call!

That is a very very very nice looking Ike.
Is it ok to ask what the blue packs were selling for at flea markets. I just like to keep up on prices.

Thanks guys for explaining to me. I can't find this thread back sooner. I have to check it one by one. So, in that case, there are 3 set of Blue and brown Ike, 1971, 1972 and 1973 correct?

Four, 1971 to 1974. The 73-S and 74-S also come as coppernickel clad proofs too.

Eisenhower Dollar Coin FactsThe ones listed as 40% silver in the first section (1971~1974) are the 'Blue' and 'Brown' Eisenhower dollars. The "circulation strikes" are the blue packs, the "proof strikes" are the brown boxes. The 1776-1976 dated 40% silver dollars were in three-coin mint and proof sets (Quarter, Half, and Dollar). There were no blue packs or brown boxes. When the normal reverse resumed in 1977, the 40% silver coin was discontinued.
