Chuck: I like to run ideas to allow readers to become thinkers. Thinkers to become teachers. More teachers, the more the hobby benefits.

I glad you did it, coop.

What a great teaching tool. I hope you and Chuck continue to do this, as well as anyone else who has something for us to learn.

Results:
Doubled die [0%] 0 votes
Not a doubled die. There is no copying of the design.
Machine Doubling [0%] 0 votes
Not Machine Doubling as the area in question is not pushed as Machine Doubling would have.
Circulation damage [4%] 1 votes
Not circulation damage as the area in question is raised. Circulation damage would have made a dent in the area in question.
Die flow [28%] 7 votes
Die flow usually affects the fields and outer devices. Seldom in the center of the die. Usually looking like raised lines from die wear.
Die break [4%] 1 votes
The area would be raised like the area in question, but not as a break would be irregular in shape. No this.
Die chatter [4%] 1 votes
Die chatter is another term used for Machine Doubling. In this case the doubling may be several in the same area where as Machine Doubling is only one area pushed on the devices.
Planchet damage [0%] 0 votes
Clash from reverse [12%] 3 votes
A clash would be a copy from an reverse device next to a field. That area would not be affected with type of raised area.

Correct answer. Planchet gas under the plating can push into any form/direction on a plated coin.
Plating splitting [4%] 1 votes

Absolutely! That was cool!

What about the frog? Was I right on with the verdigris?

I know I was right about creepy. No where near as creepy as that dancing baby, though. He gives me nightmares.
