Well I checked out the 1947 penny. Looks to me like it has the small maple leaf after the 7 and the seven appears pointed . Here are some pics of it.

its a blunt 7 ML, maybe VF, not worth much sorry. What have you got in really good condition, i.e. red cents or silver coins without any wear on them?

Well, lets see. Lets begin with this fine pair of five cent pieces. Both are in great shape and sparkle just right when then sun shines upon them. Eyecatching to say the least about this 1938 and 1939 pair!

Moving on this evening I would like to share with you a pair of fifty cent coins from the "Fonzie" Era if you will! This 1950 and 1949 set are stunning to say the least! I hope.

Staying in the theme "Quarters" here are the 1948 and 1952.

Maybe this 1937 quarter has played many a game of Pac Man but he's still in great shape!

Your collection, to me, looks to be worth it's weight in silver. none of the coins are in great shape (by collecting standards).
Silver value is about 10x face value, and applies to everything except your pennies and nickels.

Thanks for all the pics, now to catch up... Your '38 and '39 5¢ are nice, about VG-8 and worth .35 and .25 in Trends. The 38 may still have mint lustre in the most protected area, i.e. under the lettering, which could make it F-12. Your 1950 50¢ (design in 0) is a fantastic example of the hearing aid variety! This is a known obverse minor die variety caused by die clash. What you're seeing is the negative image of part of the reverse of the coin. Nice VF-30, worth maybe $10-15 with the hearing aid. the '49 50¢ is around F-15, not the hoof over 9 var., worth melt. '38 and '39 25¢ are VG-8 but due to their rarity you could get more than melt. the '51 quarter is high relief, low grade and worth melt. the other quarters are ordinary and low grade, unfortunately not worth much more than melt. I think we covered the 1918 in another post.

Well thanks for all your help guys. I am going to be putting this small collection back into long term storage. Maybe a 200 year timecapsule or whatever!

sell them for silver and buy yourself ONE nice coin for the money. then save some money and buy another, then another...and by then you are hooked.. Before you know, you will post a picture of 1921 50 cent piece....which you just found in another of your dad's cigar boxes, unless you have one already.
