I agree that this should have an octagonal shape on the clip. The damage doesn't seem to make sense as it is.

the coin shown has a "Beaver' in view, so how can it be a four-bit piece?
Now about the 11-foot pole....
who did you 'lift'it from? Hmmmm
I have used the term "I wouldn't touch that, with a ten-foot pole", for at least 60 years! maybe I should join you guys a Kieths, (whereever, or whatever that is).
FWIW:
For the coin enthusiast who is looking for something a little different to add to your collection

50 cent Canadian coin with an eliptic clip

If you have any questions pertaining to this item feel free to contact me via e-bay messaging "ask a question".

SHIPMENT:

On Jun-22-10 at 20:20:20 PDT, seller added the following information:

ERROR in Listing--This is a 5 Cent piece not a 50 cent piece. The year is 1950. Sorry about the confusion

I was looking at the link, and decided to read further....

The "11 foot pole" is taking the "I wouldn't touch that with a 10 foot pole" a little further. If you wouldn't touch a coin with a 10' pole, then there would be 11' pole marks all over it.... showing distain, contempt and mistrust over it.

Bogus coin. Why? Bogus seller. Bidder d**o(0) has all 100% bids with the same seller, yet never won a single auction. d**o(0)retracted a couple [winning?] bids too...

1,000,000 ft pole.
