You should hand it over to the local museum.

Someone's loss is another person's gain nice Morgan!

Thunderstorms on one side of the earth means it's nice sunny weather on the other side

when eating tasty & nutritious fried Chicken, that chicken died for that

and it's always nice to be on the good end of the stick!

My best find was a 2000 Belgian francs note some 10 years ago - at current exchange rate around 60$
My most bizarre find was a pile of 4 Turkish 1 lira cons in Greece.
But never ever found a collectible coin.
Congrats to your friend!

I'm really scared at the law of averages would screw me.

If I find something valuable, I'm always thought what would or did I lost. :D :D

My best random find was a $20 bill I found in my winter coat pocket that I had forgotten there the previous winter. Not really a net gain, but still fun.

The law of averages works for the entire population. It doesn't have to be you to lose something. It's actually the person whose item you find. Your find and his/her loss average out.

I like the Coinstar idea - I'll have to check those machines out.
Also, I have a find to report from a recent vacation. We had stopped at a convenience store for drinks, bathroom, etc. When we left an walked out to the car, I looked at the ground as I was getting in the car a found a $10 bill. At least it helped pay for the drinks.
Then, long time ago as a kid when I was mowing the yard, I almost ran the lawn mower over a $20! Fortunately I noticed what it was first and pocketed it. Most I ever got paid for a lawn mowing as a kid.

I found a ten dollar bill last week when I went out to my mailbox but I've never found a collectible coin.

You must have dropped it the night before trying to get your keys out of your pocket...:)

Leaving a casino one night I found a $20 on the ground and my brother said most people would say that is a sign they should go back in a play some more. I told him it was a sign that I left at the right time.

That $10 I found going to get the mail that day wasn't my first find like that. One time I found $30 going into our local deli and once I found $20 on the ground. All that and I'm only $10 ahead because I lost a fifty at another deli. When I went back everyone there claimed they hadn't seen it but I know that's where I lost it. Que sera.

My dad found a 1921-D Morgan on the floor of a city bus.
(but that was in 1957!)
