J&M's catalogue lists 2006p Canadian 1 cent for $300 per roll ...

-If I find one in circulation,very-fine; if not, fine.

I have still yet to find one in circulation. I highly doubt that one of my last 4 boxes will have one either.

Since I have started roll hunting I have found 15 2006 No P No ML Magnetic cents but only 3 2006P magnetic cents. I doubt I will ever find a 2006P non-magnetic in my lifetime. I have around 6 of the 2006 NPNML Mag left that I'm holding to see what happens with the price over the next year as the cent starts to disappear from hunters fingers.

A buddy of mine in Southern Ontario is sitting on 26 x 2006 NPNML Magnetic cents. He has been saving them since the announcement of the removal of the cent.

Annoying thing is that out of the last 25 boxes I have searched...I have not pulled any 2006 NPNML magnetic cents. I did manage a few other nice pulls though like 2 x 1985 Pointed 5, 1955 NSF& a 1982 Obv punched through early state die cap. Just to name a few.

Hopefully the hunt will continue tomorrow.

I wanted to take a few pictures during this downtime but I have misplaced the screw for my tripod that attaches the camera to the tripod. So annoying. I called around to a few camera shop but it is a older tripod and they no longer carry the screw. I guess I will head to Canadian Tire and make one.

They're out there, Coin Chick, they're out there. If you've got lots of penny boxes, I've no doubt you'll find one. I snagged a nice one in change the other day, my first found-in-the-wild one, so I know there's still a few around. And SHAFTA9a, even though the penny has all but dried up in circulation, there are many a roll just waiting to be bought up and many a piggy bank to be cracked over the next few years, so you still have a chance too...

Darryl, the 2006P non-Mag is the rarest of the 2006 (6) pennys. There has been no price put on it yet due to the fact that they have not been sold at the auctions, so I have been told. I personaly only know of three that have sold. The last one, a friend of mine bought for $1950. 2 years ago. As far as I know, that was the highest price paid. The others went between $1500. & $1800. The next rarest is the 2006 noP,no Mint mk, CPS. If UNC, they generally sell at the bottom end around $150. I have seen them go as high as $550.depending on the grade. The last one to have value is the 2006P CPS. UNC could bring $10.-$25.again depending on the grade. I hope this helps.

All, my understanding of the 2006P CPS, is this. They were produced for the sets, however many that may have been. The mint struck more than what was needed for the sets, rather than chucking the balance of them out, they stuck them in the circulation pot, the got rolled up and sent out. The 2006 no logo, noP was a boo-boo, that strike was meant to be CPZ, some steel planchettes found their way into the Zinc bin. The same thing happened with the 2006P non-mag, that strike was intended for the steel planchettes, some found there way into the Zinc bin.

The rare one would be the non-magnetic with the P under the queen. The second one would be magnetic with no P or mint mark under the queen. and honestly the rest are worthless.
