You said he is your friend and he would give you a full refund. I would take it and if I did not like it then I would send it back.

Looks cleaned to me and worn to about VF-35 or EF-40. Still probably worth $800 easy. I'd go for it!

Congrats on the EF grade! I saw your thread about your 1909 eagle as well. Are you putting together a gold type set, or just collecting?

Quote: No cleaned designator? Thats insane. If you saw it in hand you could tell its not been cleaned. honestly I did not think it was anything better than a vf-30. but it does not look cleaned in hand. you can check out the other 1866 thread where the pictures are a little better. I just posted here b.c I had started this one first when I was trying to buy the coin. wanted the people who posted in this one and not the other one to know how it came back. I will post a picture of the slab when I get it. Quote:

Are you putting together a gold type set, or just collecting? thanks. actually I bought the 1866-s to resell if I could and bought the 1909 indian for my collection. I bought them from some crappy pictures so it was a hunch. I may sell the 09 since its scratched and try and get one thats not/

i dunno how much it will go for. I paid 800 from a gold dealer friend in canada. some guy brought him in like 12 different pieces and I wish I could have bought all of it but didnt want to drop all the funds. I checked Heritage ended auctions but there isn't anything that ended recent in that grade. A PCGS vf-35 that looks like a vf-25 to me sold for 2700 the other day, and back in may a pcgs vf-30 sold for 3200, the vf-30 looked a lot better than the vf-35.

Now that is a great purchase. Congrats! That would put the value at around $3000 greysheet bid. I'd say you did quite all right.
