I've never had trouble spending my 2's.

I usually get them every week, (or every other week) from a certain teller at my bank, who always seems to have them on hand.

I haven't found anything earth shattering, or anything, but one bundle did contain a 1953 red seal, and a 1976 series with a first day of issue stamp. Aside from that, my finds have been fairly pedestrian, in the 2 buck bill dept.

Anyway, I always have no trouble spending them. I've gotten a few "oh cool, a 2 dollar bill" comments from people, but they've always been accepted.

I saw a video of people buying food with $2 in an uncut sheet. That was pretty funny

Mixed emotions...

The cashier at Taco Bell asked me "do they still make these things?". I said no, they are still distributing the ones they made previously.

At KFC I had a customer sprint across the room and begged me to buy them before I gave them to the cashier. When I sold them to him he was amazed that they were consecutive and uncirculated. It was like he had won the lottery. The cashier looked at me afterward and said "but I wanted to buy them".

At the super market the cashier said "I hate these things".

When I deposit them at my bank (in large quantities) they say the same thing as the supermarket.

Others are apathetic.

So totally mixed emotions when $2 dollar bills are involved.

General question for the folks having a tough time getting rid of the $2 notes.

Do you folks live in small towns? / Not many banks around you? Etc - Thanks

2 specifics situation that happened to me.

At one bank the junior teller asked the "head teller" what do I do with it?
Head teller - IT's MONEY, we HAVE to take it.

At another bank all the tellers gathered together (6 of them) looking for the water marks. I had to tell them there were no watermarks only security threads. By this time the manager comes out for the commotion (behind the counter) talked to me was impressed with my knowledge of FRN's, banking regulations etc, apologized for the chaos and offered me a job by the time they finished counting.

People here in West Texas usually don't even bat an eye when I spend or give them back in change. Same thing with half dollars...although there was this one guy who thought that these were the "new" dollars. Ah...to be young and new to the world of economics (who is responsible for him?).

I've had a few young cashiers at retail stores do a double take when I spend half dollars. They never even heard of them. Oh well.

I get two dollar bills and half dollars from the bank regularly and have no problem spending them. About half of the people comment they didn't know they were still being made and the other half said they hadn't seen either in a very long time. I tell them their bank has them and all they have to do is ask for them.

I get $2 bills at my bank to spend also. The best story I ran inot was at a McDonalds. I handed the lady several different denonination bills including one $2 bill mixed in. She had to count the money 4 times. She was so used to counting by $1, $5 and $10 that everytime she came to the $2 she hesitated and then started again. Two's can be fun to spend.

I agree that $2 bills get mixed responses. Some people love them, some hate them, and some have absolutely no idea what they are. I like those people the best.

I once gave a $2 as change in my business and the lady kept thanking me. SHe promised not to use it. A month later I saw her again and she told me that she still had it. I showed a 2 to one of my 13 year old cousins and he thought it was a fake.
The 2's are very interesting any way you look at it in my opinion. I still have one that my bus driver gave me in HS!!

My mother-in-law loves two dollar bills. She gives them to the kids and grand kids all the time. She even put some in a book she bought me last week.

I always spend them at football games.

I'm a regular $2 bill distributor. They usually generate some kind of response.
