I would call 12S a semi-key as well as 22D, and of course the 22 plain is a key. So is a DDO 1955, if you count varieties.

Do you have a RedBook or a bluebook? Although most people don't use it for pricing, you can discern which Lincolns are keys by the prices listed. Just look through the G4 prices and the keys become clear.

If you have no books, you can apply the same concept at numismedia.com.

Still looking for a 1960 small date. Found a 1960 D small date which I hear is pretty easy to find.

While it's not considered a "key" by any means the 1932 is always a nice find as it's the lowest Philadelphia-minted Lincoln Cent.

I would add the 1926 S if you are going for an uncirc. set.

I always considered Gforce's list the list of keys
09s, 09s vdb, 14d, 31s
Semi keys:
10s, 11s, 12s, 13s, 14s, 15s, 24d
22 no d and 55 DD are basically rare "die error" coins.
1970s small date is just a pain, "do I really want to spend $40-$50 on a Memorial cent"?
IMHO of course!

As far as uncirculated/MS coins go, you can just about throw in all of the branch mint issues from 1920-1927 as difficult finds, especially '23-S, '26-S, '24-S. Also, nice unmolested, uncirculated lincolns with good strike minted in Philadelphia between 1946-1954 are tough to find - MS66 generally go $200-$450 depending upon the year.

S-vdb and 14-d are considered keys, but you can always find them as they are so popular - it is more a matter of your budget and how nice you can afford. Always purchase them certified at the highest affordable grade.

22 Plain, 55 DD, or any DD for that matter, are error coins.
