It's not weird. I am still hunting for an LP3 Denver mint. I haven't found many of any variety in circulation.

Quote: I am still hunting for an LP3 Denver mint. They all stayed in Denver. I've pulled over 150 LP-3 D's from circulation. I won't even save them anymore unless they're BU and spotless. It's LP-2 D's and LP-4 D's that are in thin supply in Denver circulation. Most of the LP-2 D's I have found in circulation are less than BU, and some are downright trashed.

i get alot of change everyweek to sort ,
It seems like almost everyone I get is in horrible condition , beat scratched corrosion
I think I saw on a site for 1.95$ shipped just google it you can get all 8 cents in uncirculated condition
3 bucks is not bad but looking how its only 8 cents who ever is selling them is making one heck of a profit with that kinda markup

I'm from Canada, but was on a recent road trip through the States (Montana, Idaho, Washington). I bought $10 worth of cents and found all D-mints dating back to 1969, except for the 1982 small date copper. This includes the LP4-D and Shield-D cents. Now I had all these in nicer condition already (thanks in part to some generous CCF members -- matchbox in particular!) But it was still fun. I also scored about 5 wheats (nothing to write home about), the odd nice P-mint Zincoln, and even a minor die clash. My hope was for a 1988-D rev. of 1989, but no luck on that one yet!

With all the silly fuss over those 2009 Cents I did the easy thing. Sent to the Mint for Uncirculated sets, opened them, filled a real lot of Albums with them. Same with the Proofs. If you put all your coins in Albums, think about those lousy 2009's 4 Proofs or each, 8 of the Plated ones for each mint and each type. 4 of the all Copper of each Mint and each tupe. If you want them all you need 20 of them and naturally if you get them mixed up, really hard to tell them apart except by weight. I've seen them all at coin shows and are selling for anywhere from $0.25 to $1.00 each for the Uncirc ones. I just am to old to keep on looking for those things in change.

I got three more very nice BU 2009-D LP3's in my change today. Agreed, my favorite 2009 P & D Cents are the 95% Copper versions (in spite of the satin finish).

What do you mean by "LP" (Lincoln Proof maybe?)
... and the numbers, do you mean for the 4 different designs for the 2009 cents of Lincoln's life?
I have two 2009 D's. One Formative Years (sitting on a log), and one with the cabin (Early Life?)
I also have four 2010 D Shield cents.
All found in change or rolls in this small town BC Canada ;)

I search cent boxes and I have yet found an LP4 in circulation. Lots of the LP1 and LP2 but very few LP3 and no LP4. I am assuming they are stacked away somewhere waiting for demand to pick up before many are released into the wild.

I think it's for Lincoln Pattern as a lot of designs were submitted. These patterns won. The new shied cent in 2010 is sometimes referred to as LP5. But I don't know if it is for sure actually LP5.

In order of release: LP1 = Log Cabin LP2 = Lincoln sitting on log LP3 = Lincoln as lawyer LP4 = Capital Dome (under construction during Civil War) LP5 = Union Shield (preservation of the Union) Quote: I haven't seen a 2009 "d" anything From Denver circulation, I've had five Philadelphia LP3's, no other 2009 Philly Cents, and two 2010 Philly Shield Cents. (most miraculous was my lone BU 2010-P Nickel!)
