Just breathing a little life into this thread... lots of lovely 5-cent errors here, so I decided to add one more...

The wonderful 70 and 80 of the Hull mint, still that's really cool.

Well thanks to SPP kick starting this thread I was able to see some really neat errors. Very cool stuff. Nice '76 nickel error.

I was at the north shore numismatic society coin show yesterday in Burnaby and was thrilled to pick up this coin. even better, I found myself sitting in front of Zonad discussing error coins! in the spirit of error collecting, and meeting Zonad, it is time to bring this old thread back around for those who haven't discovered it yet. Nice to meet you Randy! 1980-81 1 cent reverse brockage (likely second or third strike from the die cap). weight is 2.72 gr which confirms the date range.

Very nice... that is a mid-stage brockage, more than 4 or 5 strikes on the capped coin...
Been several years since I have been able to sit and have a chat with Randy...
You must have met Tim as well...

thank you for that SPP.
yes, I met Tim at the same time. it's a shame they didn't bring some nice errors along with them. Both are great guys and they speak highly of you as well.

Beautiful coin! I am out on Vancouver Island and would be interested in meeting up with any error collectors at one of the North Shore events.

Very nice Zonad... and welcome back!! Mine is similar, but does not have the partial brockage...

Zonad- so far there is only 1 show a year in Victoria hosted by the Victoria Numismatic Society in late August. Next year will be the third anniversary of the latest incarnation.
And those 2 coins are some beautiful eye candy! I spent part of the afternoon paging through a binder of errors I forgot I had. Some of the first ones I ever bought. Good memories.
