I save ALL red BU cents from 1982-1989 and roll them up for storage.

coppercoins

I'll also add that I'm saving ALL 1991D and 1993D red BU cents as well. According to CDN, these 2 dates are well worth hanging on to.

I have nearly 10,000 rolls (about 500,000 coins) worth of Lincoln cents in bags, tubes, rolls, etc. I basically have more than most of the banks in this area (300,000 population) put together.

Not sure how you store them and hopefully where ever it is you had it structurally checked for stresses and strains.
Only saying that due to I once worked in an Engineering Office that moved into a building that was not intended for massive storage weights. The walls actually started to bow out from that weight.
Just something to think about.

Indeed.

As you well know Scott, the 90D and 91D are just impossible to find in my area in MS red. I may find ONE MS-62 or less out of every 25 boxes searched. Even beat up brown circs are scarce here. Regardless of where you live, I highly recommend saving 1990-D red, BU cents. Besides being somewhat scarce the vast majority are MS-63 and lower. Out of ALL of my BU rolls, filling up my 90-D (and 91-D to a lesser extent) tube with red, MS-64 & up coins gave me a nice feeling of accomplishment.

The other really tough gem BU roll to complete is the 1984-D. These were all SO poorly made it's not even funny. Regardless of listed/perceived marketplace values, I wouldn't sell that roll for anything less than $100.

It seemed like the 93D roll is also pricey on CDN too; what are some of the expert take?

I save every single BU cent I find. Each one costs me one cent and it will eventually be worth more than one cent. Since I don't plan to sell any of my collection, my kids or grandkids . . . will reap the benefits.

That being said, anything after 2005 must be gem BU, or back to the bank it goes. For 2004 and earlier, I will save choice BU coins.

I just came back and read this thread...... then do a quick check at few of the one I have.... they are not that good compare to the earlier copper cents.

Nice 85, Erik.

I'm still looking for all of these, of course.

Since the thread was active I finally found a nice chGem '84-P. It is highly PL and nearly flawless except for a couple tiny plating bubbles on the reverse. I found a companion piece from the same die pair that is nearly as nice with a little light marking but no plating bubbles at all.

This date is very tough in PL. It is tough without bubbles. It is tough with nice surfaces. It is a little tough with good strikes. It isn't easy without marking. To find all these on a single coin is almost a miracle.
Time don't fly, it bounds and leaps.
