I started with Railroad related books, railroad collectibles in general to include pocket watches, and of course our beloved coins and notes.

Marc D...I'm glad to see someone else who dabbles in railroad collectibles. I don't do pocket watches. I'm primarily into lanterns.

I also collect Aniversary Clocks. Like coins, a lot of design work and craftmanship goes into the unit. Oh ya, and the polished glistens in the sunlight as well.

I collect interesting coffee mugs either from places we visit or they just have a curious theme to them.

Watches (also do restoration and repair), Silver service. Books, but that's more of an accumulation -I have something like 15,000 mostly law books scattered among my office and three storage units. One day I'll have an office large enough for my whole law library.

I also collect beer glassware. Usually foreign stuff as well as steins. I picked up a 1979 and 1981 German Oktoberfest steins for a dollar each at a yard sale not long ago.

I collect stamps but mostly confine myself these days to used ones I get on mail at work - the UK issues far too many stamps these days and it becomes very expensive if you get all the miniature sheets, first day covers, etc. I also collect diecast model buses, which I keep in a display cabinet, and records - I have all the UK Number One singles from 1952 when the British pop charts started!

I collect banknotes, not so different, haha. I once collected beer cans and bottles, stamps, but I gave them away. When Soccer World Cup year cames, I collect Panini stickers.

At one point I was really interested in crystal glassware and carnival glass. I never used it and it just collected dust so I sold it all. Played Magic The Gathering when I was much younger but I sold all of my cards today. I've always been interested in military collectibles, particularly edged weapons but they tend to be a little pricey. I collect pins but very passively at this point. I also really like the look of old German and Japanese tin toys but everything is taking a backseat to coins.

Somewhat related note: does anyone here collect US Christmas Seals? I have a large stack here from my mother I don't know what to do with, I'd be happy to pass them on to a collector!

Dang, didn't mean to literally kill the thread dead, Fred! I collected Star Wars action figures and trading cards as a kid, but really couldn't keep at 'em. Didn't hold my interest as much.
