i think he knows and is trying to get suckers. by his no return policy and the fact that he says he is no expert and you should do your own research before buying. and he's sold these before. sounds like he is good at selling "fakes".

Its the same thing with sellers on ebay trying to sell 1981-S clear. They do not call it type 2 as it is clearly a type 1. People are buying these and if it was type 2 it would be at least $50. ebay is a good place to buy, but be careful and watch out for the sharks. Coins like this should be bought from dealers where you can inspect the coin yourself before you buy.

i just bought one for a great price in great condition, the small date... but it was a seller with 100% feedback and lots of sales. and they accept returns. thats what I look for.

Look at all those bids--on something worth a cent.

This guy is blatently trying to rip people off by playing dumb and saying "you decide - no returns". What a scam.

It's the typical pattern I see.

his wording made it obvious that he knows it's a large date. and he never specifically says its a small date except in the title. and the other ones he sold, the buyers left good feedback. they must just not know the difference between the dates. thats why I bought this one: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...TRK:MEWNX:IT
can't decide too well by the photos, but the seller seems knowledgeable and accepts returns. so if I did get the large date I can just send it back.

Your's looks like a small date to me - I think you did ok - assuming the reverse doesn't look like trash.

Yes the original post is a large date, when I told the seller, he replied "thanks".
