Bank Wants To Charge For Getting Rolls Of Halve...?

Come on, you got to use a little common sense here. They are not going to order coins for you that you just bring back to them.

Don't dump where you eat. It's a fundamental rule of not only roll searching, but life.

None of the banks in my area will order halves for me. I have been to 8 different banks
and they all said "No Sir". Luckily I can order large amounts of rolled coins for my business
but even when I told them my business would begin using half dollars in the registers they
still said "No Sir". Oh well, looks like I'm down to cherry picking and paying retail..... for now....
But I have had luck with cents, dimes, and nickels that I buy from my business bank.

Yup, I had one bank that I was using try to charge me for ordering boxes, so I stopped using them as an order bank and started using them for dumping. After about 3 months of that, they informed me that I'd now be charged for dumping too. I took my business elsewhere and haven't had any other problems with any other banks.

Becoming more and more common everywhere. By me this is now true of almost all Banks. The reason I was given by a Banks Officer was due to all the people lately getting bulk coins and then returning them right back to them. Even worse is the latest craze of short rolls. Banks get them now all the time with either one coin short or a few washers thrown in as a filler. Many Banks no longer have coin counters so all bulk coins must be sent out for counting and they are charged for that service so it is now passed on to the customers. Most customers don't want to pay for this so the Banks just stopped ordering or accepting bulk coins. It is there company so if a customer doesn't like that, go somewhere else.
What really gets me about all this is one Bank I use I've gone to for about 30 years and I too get that same treatment. They just don't care. It's there company so again, don't like the service, go somewhere else.

Of course they are going to charge you. They are in business to make money..... or in this case break even. Glady offer to pay the fee, it's probably cheap and could be easy to make up by finding silver. You should be thanking them for offering you a deal. Most banks will flatly turn you away.

The tellers that wont order are either lazy or ignorant. Anyone can order halves, it is on the weekly order sheet. When I was a teller 6 years ago, I had to submit the weekly coin/currency order online and there was always a section for halves in the coin category. I would order a box or two for myself every week, did this for roughly 2 years and always received the coins. No one ever questioned the orders or asked me who I was ordering the halves for. I think the average teller today is simply unaware that these coins can easily be ordered and that most banks have plenty in supply. You need to check with the head teller or commercial teller, these usually place the weekly branch cash order.

6 years ago half hunting was not a big thing , silver was less then $4 a ounce and not even worth the time
40% silvers were worth 60 cents and silver 90% was a little over a buck.

Now those 40% coins are around 3.50 and the 90% 9-10 dollars BIG DIFFERENCE from 6 years ago.

My bank wont order halves PERIOD I even talked to the manager , he says they get shipped in from far away and people they ordered for changed their minds and didnt pick them up and they have to pay to send them back . SO THEY NO LONGER DO IT PERIOD
