The item description is full of contradictions. It says the coins you will receive are as good or better than the scans. THen it states that there may be dings wear or blemishes which means they are lower grade than the scans. Well which is it. you cant inhale and exhale at the same time.

Could you post a picture of the cents you received? I noticed the auction stated the cents were circulated (look at the top of the auction) though the picture is of near gem unc's.

those coins do not look replated (reprocessed) because the ones that are reprocessed look real shiny and those look like the original finish. One way to tell is looking at the edge of the coins once they are in hand, if the edge is shiny like the Obverse and reverse they have been reprocessed because the sheets were plated and then the planchets were stamped out of the sheets so the edge didn't get the plating the Obverse and reverse did

i think he posted that they may have blemishes just in case you receive one that does... but the coins I received are in fantastic condition, I will post pics soon when I get time to photo them. probably later today. anyways, I looked at the edges and they look more dull than the obverse and reverse do. the obv and rev do not appear to have an unnatural look. I wish I could send them to someone here who is an expert who can tell if they are legit or not.

the pictures look like the obverse is a little more dull than the reverse, but it's just a bad picture.

help me out here, experts... the lines on the wheat ears are so clear -- if these were plated somehow, wouldn't you expect corrosion or wear between those wheat lines?

Someone please explain how to tell these are reprocessed. It bugs me when opinions come in with no justification. I mean the pics on the listing are (according to the seller) not the actual coins for sale. Price alone doesn't mean anything. (And no, I'm not the seller.  ) |

bibd, I have seen examples of really worn coins plated to look "shiny". If the edge of the coin is also shiny, it has been re-plated. The scary part is, back in the day, some of them were coated with mercury!  |

see mine don't look like the edges are plated but I'm not completely sure. I dont really have anything to compare them to.

The pictured coins appear processed, but since he says it's only representative "or just nice circulated coins", the picture is meaningless.

If they are not coated , plated etc is a good price .
Last year I bought 2 AU per a dollar from a dealer friend but both philies
