Thanks nismojones! You led me on the right track. That member (JBK of course) told me he has been stamping his initials, and has stamped over 10,000 nickels, but stamps other denominations as well. Most are spent or dumped at banks in Eastern MA. Guess this one had circulated over to me.

If you are still interested in this coin. Let me know. I was going through an jar of coins today and a found a Maine quarter. But it wasn't an ordinary quarter. On the back, "JBK" was engraved in it.

I don't care for people that deface money. Isn't it illegal, as well?

It's not illegal Ron, unless there is an attempt to defraud.

Coinfrog. Not my cup of tea but to each their own.
That's what makes collecting fun.
Rest in Peace

I think it is because you are lazy.

And the topic is active because of worthy neco-bumps, thank you very much...

Too bad coins don't have SN's as this could be the next Where's George. . And coins actually have a chance of getting more than a couple of hits if they circulate for a couple of decades like they're supposed to (not cents of course). Though I suppose JBK could punch a SN too.
