Very good. Correct answer. Of course it could be struck through an obstruction that fell out...how could we tell the difference?

wont it be more pronounced?

and it wont have the "ripped" effect.

i cant really explain that, but if you showed me 3 different pictures, 1 with Lamination, 1 with struck through, and 1 with PMD, I would be able to tell the difference.

You are correct - a struck through that fell out would have a crisp edge and wouldn't have the tearing effect the edge of this cavity has.

You got it!

Great photo. Great topic. I really enjoyed the "quiz" format.
(retaining my seat at the back of the class... for now. ;)

This one has the potential to be tricky to figure out due to all of the extraneous damage on the rim, one could easily think PMD if you do not look for other diagnostics as well.

Adam deserves a conga line of dancing fruit for that effort

I thought it was a secret compartment used to smuggle Lilliputians into the country. I'm glad I didn't offer an opinion on the forum.
