I use the heavy duty clear packing tape on all edges of the boz...so far no problems. And I ship $100 FV at a time.

I recently got a package of a few coins and some supplies. The box (3"x6"x12") was totally covered with tape.

maineman, where do you get that tape and what brand is it. I guess I just need to pick some of that up and cover the entire box.

Forget Walmart. Go buy it at Target or something instead.

Why not just use newspapers. Bundle up a pile of them and jam in the empty spaces. Or you could go to Walmart and buy that tape and also bubble wrap. I was just there and say a real lot of that bubble wrap stuff there. I ship a real lot of toys to my grandaughter and they are mostly plastic so break easily. So I just pack the box with grumbled up newspapers and away it goes. And that tape is much cheaper at Walmart than at Target. But wrapping tape is also sold at Home Depot, Menards and I've seen some at those dollar stores too.

I agree with some wood. I do a lot of shipping and you want something that isn't going to compress much

Lots of tape is fine with flat rate priority boxes, but if you EVER use the flat rate ENVELOPES - check with your post office as to whether they will allow them with more than one strip of tape. That is ALL that Springfield, MO 65801 will take.
I have also found that the nit-noid little rules like this seem to change from post office to post office.

thanks everyone for suggestions, I think I am ready to ship. I don't get newspapers, but my neighbors driveway has about 10-15 newspapers just hanging out there. I don't think they'd mind if I took them :) of course i'll ask first though.

Rake your neighbors leaves and use it as a filler in the box = P/S use a zip lock bag for the leaves--Go Green
