I have a buch of rolls that I hold unopend for some reason. The ones I have are Fed rolls. They just take up space, there are tons of them out there.

A roll of Jefferson dollars is very common. You can buy a box of 10 directly from the US Mint website. Open them, search them and when you don't find anything worth more than $1, spend them. They have no collector value.

Quote: Thomas Jefferson dollars Wow I completely overlooked that first line. That's why I asked for the date. With ebay fees and such you'd more then likely break even. It's worth a shot but I'd rather spend em at Taco Bell for fun.

What exactly did you buy them for?

Got them for $25 Scoob. I'm gonna search them as I picked up 7 more rolls today. 4 Washingtons and 3 Jackson rolls. Maybe I'll get super lucky and pull a mule. WOLF

I hope you do find something cool in there.
Also please don't return them to the bank, put them in circulation if you can, the ones you don't want. I rally want people to start using dollar coins. I think it would be cool, and its about time we have dollar coins around.

The last time I tried using a gold colored doller coin, the guy working the register thought it was fake. The gold color threw him off.

I agree with the taking up space. I stopped collecting tolls of anything a long time ago. I stopped trying to spend them when I too got all sorts of wierd looks.

I use the dollar coins almost on a daily basis, especially for tips, and so far no one objects or gives me a funny look, and only occasionally do I hear a "Wow! One of those, huh?" comment. My spread-the-golden-dollar campaign is working!

I have no problem using them.......but it will not do any good whatsoever "to" use them, with only a very small handfull doing so.
The only way to get any true/real "circulation" of these, is for the Govt. to do away with the $1.00 F.R.N.
Until then....they are slingshot ammo !

Definate crack, I don't see these dollar coin rolls as being worth anything in the future. Just too many of them and I don't think collector interest is high or ever will be.

Should have sold em as BU rolls. Not a stinkin thing but BU dollars. No die cracks, clashes, missing letters, doubling, etc. What a bummer. But ya never know so I will go pick up more and maybe get lucky. Deffinately will not save em. Don't really want to put the effort into selling them either so guess I'll just search em and test my luck. They are fun to spend though. Especially when the total of a purchase is like $35. WOLF
