Very Nice Find, Hide Them Back For The Future
I Buy Rolls From Time To Time From My Bank Also
I Got a Full Box of 2011D Penny's The Other Day
So I Just Put Them Up, Maybe Me Or The Grand Kids Will Find Them Again In 20 Years

Exactly... I got 10 rolls of 2010 ATB Quarters, and I am just holding on to them. Like Dman said 20, 30 maybe even 50 years from now that could be a key date, or someone will crack them to sell them because they can get 5 to 10 dollars a piece for them and they find a nice variety and get 500k for it (not sure what inflation will look like by then) much like the way the 1969 S Lincoln Cent was found. Maybe you can change the status of your family tree forever too, maybe go from lower class to middle class or middle class to upper class, or maybe the family member that has it needs the money really bad to feed their family and with it they go back to school or start a business they always wanted and become a major sucess. They are all longshots but no worse than playing the lotto a few times a week.

I don't think sticking the $20 in dimes in a drawer for 20 years is really worth maybe doubling your money. Seems to me I'd rather have something to enjoy and still potential double

Would you stick them in a drawer knowing MAYBE they could be worth 10X the face value? How about 20X? Who knows....

I love folks who stuff rolls in their drawers hoping to get lucky. It's part of the American dream. When all you have is a new roll of quarters, don't take their dreams away ...it might be all they have left.

Let's see, if 20 years ago you bought $10 in cents, today you'd have $10 in cents (or quarters). Best case scenario, $10 in nickels would be worth $12.20 if you could sell them.

That $12.20 would buy what $7.14 bought if you just spent the money 20 years ago.

Not that it matters, because odds are close to 100% that within those 20 years, you'd have lost them to fire, flood, or theft, or spent them.

If you put the $10 in an account paying 3% compounded annually, you'd have $18.06, worth $10.57.

Friend of mine saved halves. Had $1100 in his bedroom. I suggested a lock box. They were safe, because you'd have to go through several other rooms and then find them.

Last I heard, one of his inlaws/outlaws is eventually gonna pay him back...

True but if you bought $10 in cents 19 years ago you could sell them for around $300

If you had bought 20 rolls (we are talking stuffing away obw rolls per the OP right?) of 1992 Lincolns and were looking to sell them, the avg price of those sold in June is 7.25 so make it $145 not $300. Last night I just looked at what some were listed at and not completed sales.
Not sure you couldn't get more for the 20 obw 1991 lincoln rolls than face per your example either. I'm guessing you could get $1 per roll at least beating the 18.06 savings return.

Now let's say you open those 1992s to find a roll of CAM beauties. I think that's what rkrj is talking about.

I doubt that you would find a whole roll of CAMs, but even one would be major, there are 17 or 18 D mints and 4 P mints known.
