98 was one of those numbers eliminated in one of the two major "no click" groups..

Sorry, I simply replied and it sent it here. Basically what I said was....

There was 2 postings that had 98 in the third position on that page.

Could you please elaborate on this. I cannot find where 98 would have been eliminated. Page# maybe? thanks in advance.

For the record, I am just trying to find where I went wrong. I'm trying to understand how I could have missed it so that I don't repeat the same mistake if the dog ever goes on vacation again, and the safe is accessible.

I'm not trying to take anything away from the game, it was great. I am not trying to take anything away from harrison2 on his win. Well played and executed. I am not bringing down the clues that were given, I think they were well placed and informative, yet still elusive enough to make it all interesting.

Just trying to find my mistake. They don't happen very often so I like to see them when they happen. Kinda like Haley's Comet. {edit: but more often.}

Not sure where he ruled out the 98 from, but you could have used this clue:

Quote:
There have been some very close encounters, but none of the third kind.

to rule out 98 for the third column.

Up to that point, 68 had yet to be called. Which is why I threw out "pick an unused number" clue.

Agreed, that last clue was the key.

Yup, my bad.. I was thinking 89 that was ruled out as the third number, not 98..

*d'oh!*
