I agree Laura may not be the friendliest dealer or have the best customer relations but when she says something like this you can pretty much go ahead and start writing the book and just wait for the final chapter when the guys want to go public with it because if she wasn't positive she wouldn't mention it. And about customer relations, she doesn't have to have good standings with anyone, she has people on her staff that take up her slack and she never has to deal with the customers (which I think is the best thing she has done for her company) she is one of the people who either you love her or hate her, there is no in between

That's pretty solid confirmation.

With this kind of turbulence, is there any future for ANACS? I've already realigned my thinking on my next submissions and just applied for NGC associate membership through my ANA membership.

An ICG employee at another forum just announced that James Taylor will return to ICG as CEO, starting January 1st.

WOW!!! I am surprised they took him back, but I guess the guy that replaced him wasn't doin as good as they thought he would either. Now I wonder if we will be sayin "ICG, ICG ,ICG is the place to send your coins" if James still visits the forum from time to time

Either that or ICG restructured to give the existing head another position to make way for James to return to ICG.

Sure might be a bit safer than playing in the field of Third Party Politics I meant Third Party Grading. Atleast with chess you most likely won't get poked in the eye by all the finger pointing thats going on.

Chess also has very specific rules. These guys seem to be making their own rules as they go along.

I guess that goes to show why I have never trusted grading companies

For better or worse, third party grading has become a fact of life for those of us who buy and sell coins sight unseen. Fortunately, there are a few TPGs we have come to trust to get it right. Unfortunately, one of them is ANACS and with the turbulence we're seeing at its top, that trust is now in doubt. It cannot help but erode the trust of ALL top TPGs. All that's needed now is for something comparable to happen to NGC or PCGS for the TPG world to slide down toward chaos and anarchy. We won't know from one day to the next to which TPG to send our coins. Might as well join the mob and slab our own coins.

Indeed, now TPGs may have a new test to pass if the want the ANA to put a bow on them: Marginal propensity to slide toward chaos.

The King Has no clothes !!

Just because the top officers of NGC and PCGS have not left the company does not mean that they are trustworthy !!

In fact I'm more inclined to trust James Taylor and Miles Standish than I am the replacement. Even though we have not been given the REAL reason that either left.

Rick

There is many reason a person leaves a job. I don't think we know the hole truth until the person tell you . or its reported buy a newspaper like Coin World or any other coin news.

I think ANACS and ICG would both do better if they focused exclusively on serving niche markets (like authentication certificates, HELLO!)where they would be better appreciated. And where they would then be leaders in where coin collecting, IMO, is heading.
