Though I am not sure mine would grade higher than VF, I may send it in. It might make it easier to sell that way as well. I will let ya know John.

seal006,
Not to rain on your parade but do you think it is worth the TPG fee because of the low condition? I mean if you pay $35 or more to have it slabbed and the coin may be worth $50 in a VF grade is it worth it to "you" to have it TPGed. I hope I haven't offended you in any way with this post, just don't want you to waste money on slabbing fees.

I feel that if I send it in, and it comes back as merely VF, and I find out all I can ask for it is $50, I will keep it. I have been known to undergrade more than overgrade. Besides we still have not found a solid source for pricing these things.

You'll not find a good source on pricing because they are pretty rare and there just aren't many being sold.I know two serious collectors of these but you'll need the die pair to get any seroius offers from them as they are working on a set by die pair. The plating issues I see may be a problem in that respect.

Judging from the CONECA listings I believe it to be 006.2 because the mint mark is slightly to the right. As to the stage on the reverse, I am guessing EMDS to MDS.

I believe mine to be 006.2 as well. Can anyone tell for sure going by my posted photo?

Maineman750,Can your friend give us an idea of values on these,it sure would be nice to know.

seal006, Do you mind if I contact Maineman750 as well?

Thanks, John1

EDIT: I just compared mine to seal006 and they are different. Seal006's the D is more centered on the 8's and on mine the D is more to the right.

John1, I just checked and he needs Wexlers listings : WTRD-001, WTRD-007, WTRD-008. Wexler's has a great page on the RDV-006's and shows all the markers for each die pair. Look under transitional listings, then at the bottom of that page you can go specifically to 1988-D and the die pairings. I will tell you my friend is more than fair in his offers and has traded me slabbed coins for raw in the 1988-P RDV-006.He does require that the coins be attributed by Wexler's or Coneca but may sway his thinking if you have good pics of the markers. You can PM me any time.

Maineman750, I will check out the site and try my best to attribute it. Thank you very much.
John1

EDIT: I just checked the site and as usual I could not match all the markers on any of the known die pairs. So I am either missing something or I have an unknown die pair

Maineman, If he is interested, let me know. John, heck yes, if he is interested in yours as well, go for it. These finds are rare and need more exposure to see if any others rattle out.

Well guys, he is interested in the specific die pairs I mentioned so you would need to to know which Wexler die you have. He is definatley interested in the die pairs I mentioned 4 posts up, not so much in duplicates of what he has.If you have some close ups of markers you can send me,I'd be glad to help.

Well, like John, the markers are not there to be able to match what is on Wexler's site. Oh well, I still feel I have a heck of a find.

Yes, the D's are a very nice find,I have 5 of the P's but no D yet.If either of you get attributed and have the right die pair, let me know and I'll contact him as they don't pop up every day.
