NFL "One And Done"

Sure, a wee bit unorthodox, but I merely lay-out the weekly picks on the kitchen floor, feed my dog a big ol' nasty, greasy sandwich before I go to the office ... and then "voila" => he picks the winner for me everytime!

Pre-season is the Devil's right-hand ...

=> man, I thought I had it all figured-out, but after watching a few pre-season games, I have zero-idea who is good and who is merely a poser, ya know?

By the way => my complimentary prize is probably gonna be something small and lame, like a 1967 50 cent piece, worth about 50 cents ... is that an okay prize, or am I suppose to man-up with a better prize? ... have we set any standards? (because I will certainly man-up more, if need be) ...

I am getting totally excited about NFL => ummm, hopefully I haven't missed the new "link"? (bring-it!)

Gold coin, eh? ... ummmmm, well I work at a Nickel refinery, so maybe I can merely electro-plate a nice coin and then pretend that it's a rare error-coin? (NOTE => I would never do that!)

=> oh, and as for the gold thingy => beat it, ya gold-scrounge => I'll donate whatever coin I want (plus, I'm plannin' on winnin' this dog-show anyway) ... well, as long as the 49ers win at least "one" game!

LOL, not at all Steve, we're just having fun, just like we're supposed to! 49ers, huh? We shal see!

I will just go with my favorite team each week since they will have a perfect season. The tough part will be what to do during their bye week. :)

nod2003, The way I understand this, you have to pick a different team each week and the team you pick has to be the winner to continue on in the contest.

I follow college myself, and don't think much of any of the professional sports anymore since the salaries they get are absolutely ridiculous. I don't care how good they are.
In college players generally play for the best reason ... to win.

I just wonder when this starts with the first pick.

My wife picks pretty good for an office pool of sorts so I will be asking her who will win.

Agree with you on the salaries, just shows how out of whack our society is, but that's a discussion for another thread. During football season; Saturdays are my Sundays, I can sit and watch college ball all day. From 12 pm until the late night west coast games. As for the NFL, I was a Bills fan back in the day(where's the paper bag over head smile) I just wait for the playoffs and root for the teams with the most former Penn State players.

My only real strategy for the contest is to save a few bottom feeders for the end of the season when the playoff teams are resting starters for the playoffs.
