Wow, congratulations! That is a really distinctive doubled die. Even better that you found it CRH. Well done! =)

Great find, snailking1! If you find one in better shape, let me know. I'll gladly take this one, once you find another one in better condition.

Thank You, Everyone! Quote: I was not aware of this doubled die Since my first year here was almost exclusively searching nickels (didn't want to confuse myself even more by searching multiple denominations! ), I have been on the hunt for over a year! Quote: Even better that you found it CRH Yes, Thanks. I am strictly a hunter, not a buyer! Quote:

Cool visible-by-eye variety. I'll add it to my list. Congrats on the find!

Nice find! I picked up the VarietyVista plate coin off ebay a while ago for a couple bucks, wish I knew where that went... Though this is one of the few modern "doubled dies" I think most people have wrong. I do not see how this is a doubled die. Nothing about it (perfectly positioned tripling, location of the doubling, the sharp corner that is supposedly doubling of the L with a rounded corner) is normal or what I would expect. I would personally advocate moving this variety to the WUFO section.
