Overweight And Thicker 1889 Victoria 10c

Shatteredsky1 New Member United States 3 Posts	Posted 09/04/2026 1:29 pm Hello All, Thanks for looking. I picked up this coin in a local online auction. So the standard 1889 10c weighs 2.33 grams and is 1mm thick. Mine is 3.43 grams and is 2mm thick. It is none metallic, and passes the silver ice test. Google says its not possible to have a thicker and heaver coin and that it is counterfeit. Any thoughts? Thank you. Report this Post to the Staff

Here are some better photos, I hope. I Thought I saw a seam also but now I'm not sure. I wish I could afford an XRF machine. The second coin is just for comparison. TerryT Pillar of the Community Canada 838 Posts	Posted Today 15H 11M ago Chinese fake from 2005-10. They would show up on ebay and some of us reported them and they would be taken off. Other key dates were also faked, as well as silver dollar-size coins from many countries. Report this Post to the Staff
