It is a Statue of liberty commemorative dollar

It has the same amount of silver as the Morgan and Peace dollars.

They are very common and trade around it's silver value, a little over $20.00

I bought it from a neighbor. I also brought some skeleton keys and a old ford key from around the 20s-30s. I spent 10 dollars for everything.

Actually it should be the same copper-nickel clad composition as regular halves, quarters and dimes. RedBook value is about $25.00.

Check the edges, you should see copper in the center, silver color on the edges.

You got it for a good price! A half dollar coin commemorating the Statue of Liberty was also released.

This is not the half dollar (which is copper nickel)
This the Dollar, which are 90% silver like the old dollars.

(you did make me go check the Red Book)

Good score.

I found the half dollar version in a roll find a few weeks ago. I also have the proof set and a half that I purchased many years ago. They seem to be the least loved of most modern commemoratives I guess due to the high mintages.
