Confederate And Colonial Fakes? How Will I Know?

satxwd Valued Member United States 321 Posts	Posted 12/11/2011 7:38 pm Hi. I'm sure I've bought more than one or two fake notes in my time. Are there any key ways of knowing that I'm looking at a fake Colonial or Confederate note? What should I be looking for? Report this Post to the Staff

Sap Moderator Australia 16884 Posts	Posted 12/11/2011 11:01 pm The easiest clue is the serial number - most fake notes are copies of just one or two genuine notes. There are several websites that list "known fake note serial numbers"; the one I always use is CrutchWilliams. See if the local library has any books available. Check your area for coin clubs in order to network with local collectors. Just a few, humble suggestions. Happy hunting!
