This matches best the description and position of rpm-018:
http://www.coppercoins.com/lincoln/...ie_state=mds
However, the die markers do not match. I have a clean field around the Y on Liberty and no curvy lines on the jacket. However, I did find some lines near his forehead/hairline. Would this be an early die state, then?

Nice pictures. What do you use?

If I had to guess at your question being a EDS I would say its plausible

Thanks Jayman931. I have an old microscope that I set on widest view. I have a small point-and-shoot camera that I hold right up to the eyepiece (mounted on a tripod). I have 3X optical zoom I can use. I set the timer function and take the picture after focusing. It is a bit tricky lining everything up but I feel it is better than some digital microscope pictures I've seen.

Nice find. A wider image of the date would be helpful?

Check markers for this die 1943D-1MM-012:
http://www.coppercoins.com/lincoln/...ie_state=mds
An overlay show this is the right location. A nice EDS example. The one on coppercoins took a hard hit on the mint mark. They might be interested in looking at your coin for EDS images?

The two markers identified are not present on mine. Here's a closeup on the Y on Liberty. Also a clean field around the T on United.

With the EDS it might have had the events happen to the die yet. Do you post on the LCR forum. Bob frequents there a lot.

No, I only have time for this forum.

Edit - just joined the LCR forum - we'll see how it goes.
