Vinny, Good question! My 2004-2005 war privy coins all come with the usual RCM trappings, so I assume at least some of the privy coins were official RCM products that were available through their website. Does anyone remember for sure? I just know the 2012 titanic and dragon were commissioned by APMEX. My lunar dragon from 2000 and the dog privy came with an official-looking RCM COA. I believe I heard the 1998 titanic privy was also commissioned, as well. IDK. I'd only be speculating on the others.

Go to this link and scroll down to: Privy Mark Silver Maple Leaf http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Canadi...r_Maple_LeafThere seams to be many privy marks that are private issue and many that are Mint issue. I think a little dude sitting in a dark room studying numbers decided what image is used. Looks like if you can afford 15,000 to 25,000 silver coins, you can have your own private issue.

Just for the fun of it, lets assume the min order to get your own "coin" is 20,000. So, 20,000 x $ 30/ounce for the silver...
Anybody got $ 600,000 to spend on a 20,000 custom Coin Community Silver Tokens?

You can pay extra and get the Mint to include COAs.

I remember when the RCM first began offering privy-marked SMLs and GMLs as a service to private groups/corporations. I recall the minimum order for SMLs being 5,000 when the service was launched. If the minimum quantity requirement was met and a suitable/approved design could be produced, the RCM would strike the coins. The sponsor was/is responsible for the costs associated with preparing the die(s) for the privy mark and pays a premium over their silver content to have them struck. The RCM would strike the coins based on the contract and provide them to the sponsor to sell/market them. Early sponsors included Dillon Gage (1998 Titanic), MTB Bank (first three annual Lunars), Universal Coins (2004 Zodiacs) and Canada Post (1998 RCMP). I seem to recall the 1998 RCM Anniversary privy being available through the RCM and know that the 2004 RCM logo set that included fractional SMLs was available directly through the RCM. There may have been others (the WWII issues?) that are not coming to mind at the moment. The 2004 Zodiac series was sponsored by Universal Coins out of Ottawa. They were, initially, the only source for the coins. They were sold individually as well as in 12-coin sets with a case; they came with RCM-produced COAs. The annual Lunar series was initially sponsored by MTB Bank, but I don't believe they sponsored the entire run -- the RCM may have stepped in to complete the series; the Lunars also came with COAs but were often sold without them.

Quote: Anybody got $ 600,000 to spend on a 20,000 custom Coin Community Silver Tokens? if I had 600K, I would spend all of them on group of seven second coin, it's the safest play among all the 1oz silver coin RCM has right now

According to the Mint, the second coin will have a rendition of Arthur Lismer's 'Nova Scotia Fishing Village'

How about the next coin in the ladybug/bumblebee series?

600K can only buy half of the bumble bee series now, so the market will be like the ladybug, still 5,000 available, if you buy group of seven, you can buy almost all of them, imagine most collectors will end up with a hole in their 7 coin box...

I see, trying to corner the market. Well I would hope that the subscriptions get the first allocation of the mintage, no?
BTW I don't feel that that painting will translate as well to silver, but some of the later releases look pretty good.

yes, subscribers has higher priority, I doubt RCM will allow someone buy in such volumn. and there are other better ways to spend 600K, storing 7000 coins with box is not easy. just dreaming:) but I do like this sub, it beats the F15 sub in every way, mintage, price, consistency, content...
