I bought these at an antiques store (wondering why)and after I got them home and out of the frames for a closer look I am wishing I hadn't bought them. The ink and colors look good but there is an absence of the red and blue lint in the paper. The chinese/japanese counter stamp probably reads "there's a sucker born every minute" or something similar.

Anyway, what are they, are they legal to own, and what might they be worth (I paid $10 each for them). any info appreciated, Thanksz, bob

as for owning these one could argue that since they are not made by the BEP they are technically counterfeit which are illegal to own.

I think they could be classified more along the lines of "educational reproductions", so probably not illegal.
