Where Do All Those Ebay Coins Come From?

ebaybrad New Member United States 5 Posts	Posted 03/04/2007 7:00 pm There are soooo manty dealers selling coins on ebay. Where are they getting such an enormous supply? They are selling pcgs slabbed coins listed for 50 bucks ...closing at like 14 bucks? Am I missing something>? I know the price guides are just guides...but how could they be making money and resupplying the same coins over and over? DO they get the coins from the mint or something? Perhaps they have teir own mint. Just getting more curious as I get more involved in buying. Report this Post to the Staff

Benji Valued Member United States 459 Posts	Posted 03/05/2007 01:06 am Dealers send in hundreds or thousands of bu coins at a discounted rate...and the few ms/pf70s usually cover the costs of submission then everything else is a profit. As for the raw coins sold on ebay, anyone can put an ad in the local paper to purchase coins "for top dollar" pay the seller (usually an heir that inherited a collection or someone in charge of liquitadinng an estate) half of fair market value, cherry pick the goodies and dump the junk on the Bay. One just needs to start out with a substantial chunk of $$$ for the start up capital, to make it an easy venture. It can also be fun and can be done on a modest budget if you are willing to gain the knowledge needed to become a savvy buyer/investor. One needs to know what to sell and where the best place to sell it. Report this Post to the Staff
