Looks like an Earl Scheib job to me. "I'll paint any 1943 Lincoln steel cent, any color for $29.95".

Nice plating job, far better than most I've seen. That one is a keeper.

Definitely a keeper, looks very convincing in hand. Going to put it in my variety album.

Looks like one of the science project I'd when I was in eight grade, changing the steel color to copper color.

It looks like the copper has actually kept the coin in better condition. I know that technically the plating is considered PMD, but if it was real it'd be, what--MS60, MS62? I would say that alone makes it a keeper. It's a lovely example of how the design translated to steel, but well-preserved by the copper.

Very well done and it even has some mint luster on the obverse. Looks like an ebay item for sure.

"Bought at an estate sale. I know nothing about coins. You decide what the grade is. No returns." LOL!
