Now, this 30 Kreuzer coin is in my possession and I decided to take a better picture of it, using a scanner. Although it is not very reliable way of grading a coin, I'd like see what people say about the grade for this coin? In addition, the coin is worn a bit more on the other side, would you grade both sides separately, use 'net grading'? Anyway, whatever the grade, this coins is very appealing to my eye, too bad the coin does look more dull in the pic than in nature And the picture too: -JJ- Report this Post to the Staff

Sap Moderator Australia 16867 Posts	Posted 03/07/2007 08:43 am If it were my coin, I'd "net grade" it, simply because the coin database I use doesn't allow for split grading. For a net grade, I don't think I could go above Fine - the obverse is just too worn. But you're right, the reverse (shield side) seems to be much less worn; only the small crown and the griffin chests seem worn and the Petra-Sancta lines are sharp and clear enough to cause Moire patterns at low screen resolution. Split-grade, I'd call it VG/VF. Don't say "infinitely" when you mean "very"; otherwise, you'll have no word left when you want to talk about something really infinite. - C. S.
