Here's a challenging one. You may not be able to tell from the pictures, but this one still has remarkable luster. This date I believe is infamous for having monstrously poor strikes.

If this coin has original luster then its the worst die state that I have seen. Sorry, but I do not think I can give an educated grade on this one. It is interesting though.

This is well known to be one of the worst years in the Jefferson series; if not THE worst. I just looked at one yesterday that rivaled this one. I can't give a grade from the pic, because I would need to look at this one under a loop to check for wear. I agree though that the reverse is almost "normal" for a 53-S.
