It has double Australia and queens head. Is this double died? Please be nice as I'm only new.

Slight doubling so not sure if its worth too much but if you like it then keep it,I dont really collect these type so someoone may correct me on th value

Hey candice,
you saved me a photo, I got one exactaly the same 3 weeks ago, I kept as, its a common coin, but I liked the doubling effect, and that the other side had a nice clean cut boarder( as none seem too)

2001 is a very common year for this error. Yours is however a decent example and if you dont have one then its definitely worth keeping. If it is one of the state reverses then that is merit enough to keep it. I keep all of those I find due to their low mintages.

It seems to be a case of machine die doubling, which is known to affect the 2001 Federation coins.

It invariably affects the right hand side of the obverse to varying degrees - I keep all I find that match your level of severity.

Some of the 2001 CoF CoA coins have very severe doubling on the reverse as well. I'll see if I can find one and put up a couple images later.

It has a coat of arms on the other side but not the normal one, the one that says Australia on a little scroll, Nancy I would love to see other pics thanks,

candace ,, different coat of arms because 2001 x .50 c and .20 c are state series coins . ,, kel ,,

That was a 2001 CoF (Centenary of Federation) CoA (Commonwealth of Australia) one year only issue.
