AR (Silver) Serratus Denarius
Rome Mint Struck 59 BC
Diameter: 18mm
Weight: 3.84 grams

Obverse: Head of Juno Sospita in goat skin, L ROSCI below, Rhyton behind (couple of banker's marks)

Reverse: Girl standing right feeding serpent before, symbol to left, FABATI in exergue

Reference: Crawford 412/1; Syd 915; Roscia 3.
Other: Nice VF+ ... Attractively toned

Prison-Coin-#9-=>-9th-Of-15-Coins-L.-Roscius-Fabatus



NOTE => this is "not" the same goat-man and snake (apparently I bought two coins with goat-men and snakes on 'em!!)

The portrait reminded me of Alexander and the lion skin (as Heracles).
That snake is sure something...but not recommded as a chastity test!

The British Museum calls your reverse symbol a shallow cup. Maybe? They have 278 of these including some really spectacular control marks.
