Hi, I put my goloid dollar on auction today and it got around 2 watchers and a $0.99 starting bid. Later, I discovered that it's magnetic... Now, ebay forbids that sellers post up coin "replicas" so should I just keep my listing on there to see how much it goes for? Recently, one that looked just as fake as mines sold for $61. What do you guys think? Thanks for sharing your opinions.
The only honorable (and legal) course is to pull the auction. And, as much as I hate to put it this way, there's no need for a magnet to see the coin is a counterfeit. The first person to look at it here would have known it instantly.
It's counterfeit, you know it's counterfeit and you do not have it labeled as "COPY" or otherwise defaced. It seems pretty clear that you should not be selling it as is and should not have it listed on ebay as is, regardless of what other folks who attempt to sell counterfeits are doing.
