I did not find this coin in the Collectors' Coins GB book but I was told this 1888 Penny is missing serifs, is that the serifs on the dates font missing? It looks to me like a normal date.

Victoria-Penny-1888-

Any help with the missing serifs greatly appreciated as I am still fairly new at identification of those serifs, and I am flabbergasted about what makes a close date and what a wide date too (most of them look the same to me tbh).

Nevermind, after googling this coin I found a past auction catalogue where they had the exact same coin and the missing serifs are on the two "I" in "VICTORIA" on the other side of the coin
