That does not look like a genuine clip. You should be able to slide another coin into the clip and it should fit nicely on a genuine clip. To be sure though, can you provide a photo of the reverse side.

Have tried sliding another quarter in the clipped area?

Put another quarter into clip and does not fit perfect . Close nbut not perfect .

At this point, I am inclined to say it is not a genuine clip. Is there any possible way for you to get a photo of the clip from the side?
