Small GB Sovereign Like Coins, Model Sovereigns? Gold?

Cointosser77 Valued Member United Kingdom 195 Posts	Posted 03/01/2013 05:16 am over 100 posts I have these small coins looking like sovereigns but they are much smaller. Are they Model Sovereigns? Would they be gold? Or are they toy money?(they are yellow metal and not plastic) So basically who made these and when, what are they made of, what are they for, what are they worth? Cointosser77 Valued Member United Kingdom 195 Posts	Posted 03/01/2013 07:06 am They weigh from 0.57 to 0.60 grams each and each one has a diameter of ~13 mm, each one has a reeded edged, and is slightly less than 1 mm thick, but that's by eye using a meter, I don't have the tools to do exact measurements:) Report this Post to the Staff

It seems there was a big market for them to tap into in the UK which rather abruptly ended in 1914 for some reason! They are usually a brass alloy.
